Diesel drops for fifth straight week, down 14.6 cents to $4.207

The price five weeks ago was $4.764 and has dropped by double digits each week, equaling a $0.556 drop over the time period.

The weekly retail on-highway diesel price average dropped today to $4.207 per gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration, down $0.146 from one week ago, but still soaring $1.339 per gallon above the price per gallon on the same week last year.

The price five weeks ago was $4.764 and has dropped by double digits each week, equaling a $0.556 drop over the time period.

All regions showed a drop of at least $0.137 per gallon.

The highest price was found in the New England region at $4.422 per gallon. The lowest price was in the Midwest at $4.130 per gallon.

California sat at $4.422, down $0.185 from the week before.
