JASPER, Ala. — Fontaine Fifth Wheel now offers what the company says is the “lightest” steel fifth-wheel assembly in the industry — the Fontaine 6NWB.

This new product features the lightweight 6000 No-Slack top plate mounted to the lightweight Fontaine NWB sliding bracket.

“The net result is about 60 pounds lighter than the competition plus you get the added benefit of Fontaine’s No-Slack technology so the lock automatically self-adjusts to trailer kingpin variances for a smoother ride, lower maintenance costs and longer component life,” said Mike Randolph, vice president of sales and marketing for North America.

No change was made to the No-Slack lock components so customers can count on the same great performance they have always depended upon with Fontaine and parts are interchangeable with older models, he added.

“We’re really proud of the engineering team that made this happen,” Randolph said. “Using Finite Element Analysis technology and strategic placement of high strength alloy steel, they accomplished this goal without sacrificing an ounce of performance, durability or load rating.” concluded Randolph.

The 6NWB is rated at 50,000 pounds vertical load with a drawbar pull rating of 150,000 pounds. For more information contact Fontaine Customer Service at (800) 874-9780 or e-mail info@fifthwheel.com.
