ARLINGTON, Va. — Truck Parking USA, an online and mobile platform for truck parking facilities, has formed a new partnership with commercial truck routing software company ProMiles.

With the integration of ProMiles, Truck Parking USA, available for iOS and Android, now includes a location-based fuel pricing tool so truck drivers can view current retail diesel prices at thousands of truck stop locations while simultaneously considering routes with appropriate commercial vehicle capacities.

According to the 2017 “Critical Issues in The Trucking Industry Report” prepared by The American Transportation Research Institute, truck parking and transportation infrastructure are among the top 10 most challenging issues facing the trucking industry.

With the addition of ProMiles software to the platform, Truck Parking USA is working to improve difficulties drivers face on the road and helping improve efficiency, according to Niels de Zwaan, managing director. Tried and tested by a community of more than 140,000 truck drivers, Truck Parking USA is the leading resource for drivers looking to find the perfect place to rest without having to settle, he said.

The platform’s truck parking locator allows drivers to find available parking spots before pulling over, maximizing driving while minimizing search time. Drivers receive access to an exclusive collection of parking locations filtered by the amenities and/or security features they deem most important. The app also provides reviews written by truck drivers who can report free parking spots near them, allowing truckers to see the real-time availability of parking spots along their routes.

“We are thrilled to integrate ProMiles software into our platform,” de Zwaan said. “Through this partnership, which is only the first step in significant additions we'll be making to the platform, we are able to elevate the driving and routing experience for truck drivers around the globe. Our mission is to continue expanding our offering so drivers are able to take the safest and most efficient trips possible.”

“Embracing cutting edge technology with partners like Truck Parking USA is part of what keeps this industry exciting,” said Tony Stroncheck, president of sales and marketing for ProMiles Software. “When I look at the advances that have been made in the 25 years we've been at this, I am eager to see what innovations we will see in the next few years. Working with a team with the infrastructure experience they have shown in Europe undoubtedly will enhance their capacity here in North America.”

Truck Parking USA is owned by PTV Group. The software provider is based in Karlsruhe, Germany, and has over 800 employees at 20 locations worldwide.

For more than 26 years ProMiles Software has provided solutions for routing, mapping and fuel tax reporting to the North American trucking industry. With a diverse set of solutions from routing to fuel cost management, ProMiles offers applications suited to everyone from the company driver to fleets of any size.
