DENVER — The human trafficking problem and what Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is doing to help combat the epidemic is being spotlighted in Denver May 2 during the 97th annual convention of the Association of Junior Leagues International.
Titled “Hidden in Plain Sight, the Multi-Faceted Human Trafficking Epidemic,” the conference will include presentations by trafficking survivors, executives of human trafficking organizations and others, along with a visit by TAT’s Freedom Drivers Project, the organization’s traveling exhibit to educate the public and others on the grim realities of human trafficking across the U.S. and how the trucking industry is working to stamp out the problem.
The event is being held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, 1550 Court Place.
The conference will run from 1 to 6 p.m. and the Freedom Drivers Project, which is inside the specially kitted out trailer of an 18-wheeler, will be open from 1 to 3 p.m.
