WASHINGTON — The average price per gallon for on-highway diesel dropped another 4 cents for the week ending December 17 to $3.121, according to the Energy Information Administration of the Department of Energy.
It marked the ninth consecutive week that the price has declined.
In all, the price has dropped 27.3 cents a gallon from the week of October 15 when the price stood at $3.394.
The price is, however, 14.8 cents a gallon higher than the first week of 2018 and is 22 cents higher than the comparable week in 2017.
All regions of the country reported declines for the week ending December 17 led by a 6.1 cents decline in the Rocky Mountain states and a 5.2 cents decline in California.
