WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America Inc. (TA) has named Debi Boffa CEO.
Boffa will begin her tenure effective Sept. 1, according to a news release.
Boffa was appointed TA’s CEO-designate in May 2023 upon the acquisition of TA by bp. She succeeds Jonathan Pertchik, who served as TA CEO since 2019.
TA officials said that Boffa “is a seasoned management executive, with over 25 years of experience with bp. She has worked across many sectors, including engineering, retail, sales, marketing and operations.”
Most recently, Boffa served as president of both bp’s retail operating organization and Thorntons LLC, leading the integration of bp’s ampm business with Thorntons while concurrently overseeing the operations of more than 1,200 convenience stores nationwide, the news release noted.
“Debi brings a wealth of experience in the retail convenience space with a proven ability to integrate businesses while driving growth,” said Greg Franks, senior vice president of mobility and convenience at bp’s Americas operations. “TA has a national footprint that provides fuel and services for both professional drivers and passenger car guests while on the road. This network will be critical as we adapt to meet customer’s evolving needs for electric vehicles, biofuels and hydrogen. Debi is a trusted leader, and I look forward to her leading TA into the future as part of bp.”
bp closed on its acquisition of TravelCenters of America on May 15.
Its more than 280 travel centers will keep the TA, Petro and TA Express brand names, according to the news release.
“I am excited to lead TA through its next chapter as a new member of the bp family of brands,” Boffa said. “We have strong growth opportunities and I look forward to working with our team members to provide guests with the fuel, food, truck maintenance and other expert services they are accustomed to, while adapting to their changing needs and supporting them at every stage of their decarbonization journey.”

i was hired about month and half ago. and fired as of today 10-17-2024 i was fired due to joking around with another employee no warnings just fired. however the problem remains the fact that you cannot just pick one person nor single out one person to punish for any act. this is discriminatory and bias. the same person i was fired for gave me all the jobs that came in instead of giving jobs to other techs that were also on duty. tahsa is also rude and disrespectful to customers and even made one so made he about came around the counter he waited 6 hours for a oil change tasha said we can do and told him after the wait we had no oil for his truck. when she could have done her due diligence and checked inventory. i was also improperly trained the equipment at this site is in ill repair there is structure damage to the building. inventory at this location is pathetic no work structure nor discipline except towards new hires. everyone is friends or family that grew up together they cover for each other they say the video feed is onsite only so no one else sees what goes on they take a million breaks leaving customers at the desk the site manager tatiana allows this and tells techs to do peel and sticks and other things that should not be performed. this side needs new manager and new customer service reps at shop. there are a few decent employees stuck in the middle of this but again to fire me and not hold anyone else accountable for their actions is wrong. there are code violations unsafe environment due to lack of care structure discipline or work ethics at this location. i cannot but think a huge part of my firing was also due to standing up and confronting the issues of lack of sufficient equipment to perform job hired and merely this other joke was merely a cover up to the firing sexual harassment is one thing especially one that is intentionally done in that way versus a joke though i agree at the same time that joking or otherwise none of this behavior should be tolerate nor should any of the above or the prejudices of the actions of tatiana i witnessed tatiana put down another employee prior to being called into the office she told the employee he’s not performing and making ta money and needs to correspond with customers better he appeared of the special needs type. this was also today 10-17-24 at approximately noon. there’s a lot going on at this site so much that i can write a book but the acts of many and should one act go unpunished while only one is it is bias and discrimination. tatiana said over a phone call did anyone say you’re fired etc. but urged me to come in to say i was fired a game mind you yet when you are told not to come in to work that implies you’re fired. and nothing that cannot of been stated over the phone. i cannot express this enough that this site is pathetic in disrepair and the acts of prejudice bias disrespect lack of rules safety equipment and so much more it is a wonder this shop has survived I’ve contacted code enforcement and am not stopping there i will go as far as i can reach du to this treatment I’ve received.
