WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police in Virginia have not identified the FedEx truck driver who died on Nov. 19 after a crash involving a passenger vehicle and bridge.
According to the Virginia State Police, the accident happened at around 5 a.m. at the 156 mile marker of Interstate 95 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Police didn’t say how the wreck happened, but the driver of the sedan fled the scene after the accident.
Police said that after the truck and car collided, the truck struck a bridge support beam, causing the trailer to rip open.
The investigation remains active.

I am very familiar with I-95 throught Virginia from Richmond to Woodbridge, Dale city, all the way to Washington DC. the traffic is just hectic.. Trucker have got to be extremely careful. My prayers to the family of the Fed Ex driver. So sorry for your loss. And for the motorist involved who fled the scene, do the right thing by turning yourself in. Be safe out there, truckers
I pray for the family of the departed truck driver. I live in this area and frequently see drivers cut off big rigs as if they can stop on a dime. Or ride dide-saddle in the driver’s blind spot. one thing would be helpful is to make vehicle drivers more aware of their own danger of colliding with a big right during DMV test and renewell. Road laws seem to take president over road safety. Where driving is a privilege has become a citizen right. A need to re focus is definitely needed. Driving is a privilege granted in view of community. A coordinated dance of a lot of vehicles in a narrow space. One miss step can lead to tragedy

So sad to see this accident. I have over 51 years of OTR experience, with today’s high tech equipment most of these accidents are preventable. Today’s driver has to do better so we don’t have to witness these things. When you climb into your truck, say a prayer, ask God to keep you safe and aware of what’s going on around you, ask God to get you back home safe. we drove by the accident on our way back to Florida from Maryland we left An hour later than we normally do or we might have been there at that time . God was with us to leave later . praying for the family of the fed x driver and shame on the other driver to run he must of caused the accident or wanted for something.

I am so, so sorry after reading this. The manufacturers keep making vehicles go faster, and this makes every wreck more deadly. If we can all learn to leave earlier and drive slower, more of us will arrive alive.
I was on the highway with my parents and saw the crashed fedex truck r.i.p. I hope well for their family and the peoples packages
